Many, many congratulations to our HSAA Senior Girls/Under 19 team who won this ESAA age group Heptathlon competition in Bedford this weekend. This is the third year in a row that this group of athletes have won the ESAA title winning as an Intermediate/Under 17 team in both 2024 & 2025 before securing for the first time for Hampshire, the Senior Girls title this year.

Rebekah Smith took the individual bronze medal whilst Rosie Lewis was only three points behind on 4623 coming in fourth. Florence Watling completed the team and was placed 7th out of the 27 competitors. Unfortunately our fourth team member, Alexis Seymour, was taken ill on the Saturday and had to withdraw.

Meanwhile the Junior Girls/Under 15 team of Bo Hatchett, Evie Bowditch & Emma Jinks, competing in a Pentathlon, came from lying fifth after four events to take silver in the team competition after the final 800m.

Also competing this weekend for HSAA were Emmanuel Oyedele in the Intermediate Boys competition placing 19th out of the 39 competitors to compete in these National finals; Leo Davies-Pratt was 8th & Hayato Ozeki 22nd out of 38 finalists in the Junior Boys event & Spencer Gibson who took part in the Junior Boys 2K Race Walk won the gold medal in a time of 10m27.47s 12secs. ahead of his nearest rival.

Once again this year HSAA would like to record their thanks to Mike Simpson who acted as the CE Team Manager throughout the weekend plus parents, teaching staff & Club coaches who have supported their athletes to allow them the opportunity to compete at these National finals and hopefully enjoy their involvement.
