South of England AA Cross-Country Championships 2015
24 January at Stanmer Park, Brighton
Hampshire athletes collected two gold, three silver and one bronze individual medals at the 2015 South of England AA Cross-Country Championships which were held at Stanmer Park, Brighton.
Louise Damen and Mahamed Mahamed took the Senior Women's and Under 17 Men's titles respectively; Josie Czura came second in the Under 15 Girls' race, 6 seconds behind first place; and Amelia Wills took silver in the Under 13 Girls' competition, just 3 seconds behind the gold medal. Zak Mahamed and Lachlan Wellington came second and third in the Under 15 Boys' race on identical times, 4 seconds behind the winner:
- Louise Damen (Winchester & District): Senior Women - 1st
- Mahamed Mahamed (Southampton): Under 17 Men - 1st
- Josie Czura (City of Portsmouth): Under 15 Girls - 2nd
- Amelia Wills (Bracknell): Under 13 Girls - 2nd
- Zakariya Mahamed (Southampton): Under 15 Boys - 2nd
- Lachlan Wellington (City of Portsmouth): Under 15 Boys - 3rd
Aldershot, Farnham & District were the most prolific team medal-winners on the day, with golds in the Under 20 Women's, Under 17 Men's, Under 15 Girls' and Under 13 Boys' races, and silvers in both the Under 17 Men's and Women's competitions.
Winchester & District took the Senior Women's team gold medals.
Athletes from a total of 14 Hampshire-affiliated clubs took part.
