Event information
Hampshire Schools Track Knock Out Competition for U13(Year 7's) and U15(Year 8's & 9's) Boys & Girls
This is a team competition for individual Schools for track events only. The first round takes place during May with a second round in early June and a final towards the end of June. Matches, except the final, take place after school. Entries available in January from District Schools' Association Secretaries.
County Track and Field Championships for U15, U17 and U19 Boys and Girls
Take place on the 2nd Saturday in June. Entry is made by the District, usually after their own District Trial or Championship. This is both a team competition and an individual Championship. U15 are restricted to 1 event; U17 may compete in 2 events and U19 may do 4 events. Relays are in addition. There is no Team event for U19.
Inter-County Track & Field Match for U15 and U17 Boys and Girls
Held the Saturday after the County Track & Field Championship. There is no Inter County Track and Field match for U19 Boys and Girls. Athletes are invited to compete by letter given out the previous week and no further confirmation can be sent due to the timescale. 5 Counties compete.
English Schools Track and Field Championships for U15, U17 and U19 Boys and Girls
These Championships are held on either the first or 2nd weekend in July over Friday and Saturday. They always involve coach travel and 2 nights overnight stay as travel is on the Thursday. Athletes must travel and stay with the team.
To be selected for these Championships athletes should have achieved at least an entry standard. These standards can be found on the English Schools website.
Up to 3 athletes can be selected in each event but only a total of 60 athletes can be taken to these Championships so a number of events have no selections. These standards may be achieved at any meeting provided it is conducted by qualified Technical Officials i.e. most club meetings but not inter school matches or training. An entry standard does not mean automatic selection. The first 2 in each Intermediate event at the Championship are selected to compete in the International(SIAB) Home Countries International Match.
County U13 and U14 Track and Field Championships
Held in July. Entry is made by Districts usually after their own District Trial or Championships. Age groups are as for U13/U14 Cross Country. This is both a team and individual championship. Unfortunately time does not permit any Inter County match for this age group.
Years 5 & 6
There will be a competition for Years 5 & 6 in the QuadKids format for Schools Sport Partnership teams. This will replace the previous year 5 & 6 Championships.
