Saucony Hampshire Athletics Grand Prix

We are delighted to announce confirmation of the Saucony Hampshire Athletics Grand Prix at the Basingstoke track on Wednesday 18 July 2012.

The Saucony Hampshire Grand Prix is a show-case Track & Field Athletics event coinciding with the 2012 Olympic 'Torch Relay' visiting Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. We are aiming to stage a high quality event including many top athletes and using Photo-Finish and EDM technology at the newly refurbished Basingstoke Track. Most of Hampshire's 20 appointed London 2012 Officials will be working at the event. There are a broad selection of Track & Field events across all age-groups. We also plan to use pacemakers (as in BMC Meetings) to ensure fast 800m and 3000m races.

The event is being advertised widely across our neighbouring Counties and a full page advertisement appeared in 'Athletics Weekly' last week. We are very keen to give Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Channel Island competitors the first opportunity to enter (NB: only the first 15 Field Event entries can be accepted to enable the programme to run smoothly).
